Proverbs 20 - the wisdom it takes to counsel others

The purposes of a man’s heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out. (Proverbs 20:5, NIV).
Lord, give me the wisdom, patience, and courage to be a friend to those who are needing me to "dive deep" with them. Lord, give others the same as they dive into my "deep waters" to help me become more like You. It will be painful, but the reward of You is worth it!"

"An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning will not be blessed at the end." (20:21)

This is along the same lines as "it is painful, but sooo worth it." Simply, the challenging things are usually the most rewarding. But I think even more important for this is that we take for granted the things that are handed to us. As we strive and work toward something we are not capable of as humans, when Jesus takes us there, it will be sooo worth it!
